Service — Redesign

Website redesign, without rebuilding everything

Your website has proved its worth but it is showing its age: slow pages, dated design, a content tool nobody dares to update any more. A redesign modernises the whole thing while keeping what already works, starting with your positions in search engines.

Signs that a redesign is due

A bounce rate climbing on mobile, pages taking several seconds to appear, a theme abandoned by its vendor, plug-ins flagged as vulnerable or a visual identity that no longer looks like your company: each of these symptoms costs you enquiries. A redesign is for organisations that already have a website and an audience, and want to build on them rather than start again.

What changes and what is kept

  • a full inventory of the existing pages, their traffic and the links they receive from other sites;
  • a page-by-page plan of permanent redirects, so that every old address leads to its equivalent;
  • cleaned-up versions of the content worth keeping, and rewritten versions of the rest;
  • a new, lighter responsive design, built following the WCAG recommendations;
  • replacement of obsolete components with a maintained, documented technical base;
  • monitoring of rankings and crawl errors during the weeks after the switch.

AI working on the content migration

Moving hundreds of pages by hand is slow and prone to omissions. AI helps extract the content of the old website, find duplicates, suggest clearer titles and descriptions and generate the redirect table; each mapping is then checked, page by page, before going live.

Security is not forgotten: the new version is analysed by automated attack tools and freed from the vulnerable components inherited from the old platform.

The path to a successful redesign

Review of the current site

Performance measurement, inventory of pages and forms, reading of the visit statistics.

Redirect plan

Every old address gets its destination, approved with you before any visible change.

New site built alongside

The new version is built on a separate environment, without disturbing the current website or its visitors.

Switch-over and follow-up

The change happens in one go, at a quiet hour, then the indicators are watched closely for a month.

After switching to the new website

A redesign only has value if the website stays up to date afterwards. Maintenance and enhancements avoid going through the same situation again in five years. If your current website is too small to be worth migrating, creating a new business website is often simpler. And if your website includes sensitive features, a web security audit beforehand informs the redesign choices.
